Farmers Market Sales Representative

Contrivance Wine & Mead Co. is looking for sales representatives for the farmers market season. Farmers market season typically runs from May through September, with some holiday markets in November and December. Are you looking for extra income during the summer? Do you enjoy spending time outdoors and being around people? Do you want to earn commission selling a product that sells itself?  Do you love mead and/or wine?

We are looking for a high energy, dependable, friendly person to represent us at farmers markets in south King County and surrounding areas. Starting pay at $20 per hour, plus tips and possible commissions. Contrivance is a family owned and operated business that has been making small batch Wine & Mead since 2021. Our primary focus is mead but we do make some grape wine as well. 

The ideal candidate loves mead, enjoys talking to people, is polite, and is good at sales. We need someone that is highly motivated and a self starter since you’d be working by yourself most of the time after completing training.

Requirements:

  1. Must be at least 21 years old.
  2. Must have MAST permit to pour alcohol (we will help obtain if you do not have one)
  3. Must be able/willing to work a Saturday market.
  4. Experience with sales and customer service
  5. Must have reliable, insured transportation
  6. Able to lift 50lbs
  7. Cell phone with hotspot and/or bluetooth capability (for Square device)

Responsibilities:

  1. Picking up and drop off of product and equipment from the warehouse in Auburn.
  2. Setting up a market booth, and taking it all down after the market.
  3. Pouring samples (if allowed, and in accordance with market and WA liquor board regulations).
  4. Being a brand ambassador
  5. Tell customers about our tasting room in Auburn and our mead club so they can find us outside of the market.
  6. Responsible for cash accepted during the day
  7. May be asked to make deliveries to retail locations on the way to or from markets
  8. May be asked to work at other events such as wine walks, the tasting room, etc. or help with production at our facility in Auburn.
  9. Sell all the bottles!
